Welder / Fitter

Job Summary

The Welder will be responsible for fabricating and assembling transformer tanks, radiators, conservators, base frames, and other related fabricated parts following engineering blueprints and quality benchmarks. The role requires producing robust, leak-resistant welds while upholding safety and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Arc, MIG, TIG, and CO₂ welding methods to meet production demands.
• Fabricate and weld components such as transformer tanks, radiators, covers, and supporting structures.
• Interpret and work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols accurately.
• Ensure weld quality, dimensional precision, and eliminate any leaks.
• Inspect welds visually and carry out corrections when defects are found.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, gas cutting tools, and hand instruments effectively.
• Adhere strictly to welding procedures, maintain quality standards, and follow safety protocols.
• Maintain welding equipment condition and promote proper workplace cleanliness and organization (5S methodology).

Qualifications and Experience

• ITI certification in Welder Trade from NCVT or SCVT preferred.
• Additional welding certifications are advantageous.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in welding related to transformers, heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, or sheet metal manufacturing.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Arc, MIG, TIG, and CO₂ welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances.
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment and industrial safety standards.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and maintain discipline.
