Weighing Officer

Role Overview

The Weighing Officer is tasked with precisely measuring all materials received and dispatched, ensuring thorough recording, adherence to company guidelines, and maintaining complete traceability for audit and regulatory compliance.

Primary Duties

• Accurately weigh raw materials, products, and returned goods using calibrated scales.
• Log weight measurements carefully in physical records or digital systems as required.
• Confirm product information, batch codes, and packaging condition prior to weighing.
• Label items correctly following SOP guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with warehouse personnel to facilitate smooth handling of materials within the weighing section.

Documentation and Compliance

• Keep precise records of all weighing activities via logs, forms, and system updates.
• Ensure all processes adhere to Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), quality standards, and internal SOPs.
• Immediately flag any inconsistencies regarding weight, product codes, or documentation.
• Maintain organized and accessible records to support audit preparations.

Equipment Handling and Safety

• Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and functionality of weighing devices.
• Notify supervisors promptly about any equipment faults or calibration needs.
• Observe all safety protocols related to material handling and operating weighing machines.

Team Collaboration

• Liaise with warehouse, quality control, and dispatch teams to ensure timely material processing.
• Assist with urgent weighing requests linked to inbound and outbound shipments.

Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in warehouse operations or weighing roles is beneficial.
• Basic computer proficiency; knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems is a plus.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of warehouse workflows and compliance procedures.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Basic familiarity with calibration and weighing equipment operation.
