We are currently seeking a Switch Operator (Weichenwärter:in) for DB InfraGO AG at multiple locations including Eilenburg, Falkenberg/Elster, Leipzig, Torgau, and Zeitz.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and timely handling of shunting movements using mechanical signal systems at designated marshalling yards.
- Set and secure full travel routes (including switches, tracks, and signals) enabling secure departures of trains.
- Maintain clear, reliable communication with neighboring signal stations, train drivers, and control centers.
- Manage issuance, receipt, and transmission of operational messages and timetable notifications.
- Monitor and inspect rail tracks continuously, and impose track closures during disruptions to maintain safety.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as a Switch Operator with sound knowledge of mechanical interlocking technology or a strong willingness to learn this specialization.
- Exhibit a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, punctuality, and competent decision-making under pressure.
- Possess operational fitness required for switch operators.
- Willingness to work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
