Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Wedding Supervisor to join our team at a prominent winery and hospitality group in Hunter Valley, New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all facets of wedding events, ensuring flawless execution, coordinating with clients, vendors, and staff to deliver exceptional experiences for guests.

Key Duties

  • Oversee the entire wedding event process, from initial setup through to breakdown, guaranteeing smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Act as the main point of communication among clients, vendors, and staff, ensuring all requirements and expectations are clearly understood and met.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the wedding team, including coordinators and service staff, clarifying individual roles and responsibilities.
  • Organize and conduct pre-event meetings and rehearsals with clients and vendors to align plans and ensure readiness.
  • Manage vendor relations, overseeing contracts, scheduling, and payment processes.
  • Resolve any issues promptly and professionally on the day of the event to maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Coordinate with the catering team to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages, accommodating all dietary needs and preferences.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrated previous experience as a Wedding Supervisor or in a comparable wedding/event management role.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with skills to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong organizational aptitude, excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building productive relationships with clients, vendors, and staff.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure and during high-stress scenarios.
  • Deep understanding of wedding planning stages including vendor management, logistical coordination, and event space layout.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends depending on event schedules.
  • A proactive, creative approach with enthusiasm for delivering memorable wedding experiences.
  • Valid RSA certification and own reliable transportation.
