About the Role
Gritter Francona seeks a skilled Videographer to create high-quality video content supporting the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) National Center for PTSD's educational media programs. This position involves capturing task-related footage such as events, interviews, and presentations, as well as editing videos that blend live action and animation to deliver educational materials.
The Videographer will collaborate closely with project managers, producers, scriptwriters, subject matter experts, animated graphic artists, and government representatives to ensure all videos align with the Center's mission. These materials should effectively communicate scientific and clinical information with a tone that is serious, compassionate, and hopeful, aiming to engage veterans, trauma survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and the general audience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Capture footage of events, interviews, presentations, demonstrations, and other project-related activities necessary for educational video creation.
- Use professional-grade equipment to ensure superior video and audio quality, paying attention to lighting, framing, composition, and sound clarity.
- Plan and coordinate filming activities, production timelines, and logistics with project managers, producers, and government stakeholders.
- Review scripts, storyboards, and creative direction to ensure footage supports project goals and educational messaging.
- Maintain and operate cameras, audio devices, lighting setups, tripods, and other related equipment.
- Edit videos post-production by sequencing shots, enhancing color and audio, adding graphics, captioning, and creating final deliverables.
- Combine filmed footage with animations, motion graphics, narration, and other multimedia components for cohesive educational products.
- Ensure finished videos comply with technical standards, accessibility rules, branding requirements, and quality assurance.
- Organize video files, project assets, metadata, and manage version control throughout production.
- Incorporate feedback from government reviews for necessary revisions and approvals.
- Portray individuals and sensitive topics respectfully following trauma-informed communication practices.
- Prepare final video files for dissemination across digital platforms including websites, social media, and presentations.
- Assist with production efforts related to public outreach campaigns such as PTSD Awareness Month and other National Center initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, Broadcasting, Multimedia, or a related field.
- At least three years of professional experience in videography and video editing connected to similar task requirements.
- Proven ability to deliver professional-grade video projects from initial filming through to final product delivery.
