Role overview
Sodexo is hiring a full-time Utility Worker for Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon, Georgia. This onsite role supports kitchen and facility operations by keeping food production and service spaces clean, sanitary, and organized.
The position includes routine cleaning of equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas, along with moving and storing supplies and helping with basic setup and closing tasks as needed. Duties can vary depending on the account, business needs, and client expectations.
Schedule and pay
Work shifts may vary by day and hour, and open availability is preferred. Further schedule details will be discussed during the interview. The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.
Key duties
- Wash dishes manually or operate a dishwashing machine.
- Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and otherwise maintain floors.
- Take trash and waste to the proper disposal areas.
- Use approved cleaning chemicals to maintain sanitary conditions on equipment.
- Refill items such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
- Remain mobile throughout the shift, including walking and standing for long periods, possibly for more than 8 hours.
- Perform bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling as required.
- Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Carry out other assigned tasks based on operational needs.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Prior related work experience is not required. A working understanding of sanitation practices and basic food safety concepts is expected.
