About the Role
This position involves assisting UK-based clients with various accounting tasks including the preparation of statutory financial statements, managing year-end closure activities, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll reconciliations, and general day-to-day accounting support. The candidate must have a strong grasp of bookkeeping principles, financial accounting standards, and tax compliance to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and personal tax return processes to identify potential risks and compliance gaps.
- Conduct year-end financial and tax closing procedures such as account reconciliations and adjustment entries.
- Aid in preparing and reviewing trial balances, mapping general ledger accounts, and analyzing accounts.
- Manage daily bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and bank as well as ledger reconciliations.
- Collaborate with different teams to resolve client queries and year-end open items.
- Maintain accurate documentation adhering to accounting standards and internal protocols.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality financial data within agreed deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com).
- CA Intermediate qualification or equivalent preferred.
- 1.5 to 2 years’ experience in Indian accounting practices.
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of Indian accounting principles.
- Good command of bookkeeping and personal tax return concepts.
- Experience with year-end closing, bookkeeping, financial accounting, and tax compliance processes.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Confident in client interactions.
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Work Arrangement and Schedule
- Work from office for the initial six months.
- Hybrid work model after six months, subject to business needs.
- Training shift from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM IST for three months.
- Post-training shifts align with Indian summer timings (12:30 PM to 10:00 PM IST) and Indian winter timings (1:30 PM to 11:00 PM IST).
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is a commerce graduate with 1.5 to 2 years of experience in Indian accounting, familiarity with bookkeeping, year-end accounting, tax compliance, and strong Excel capabilities. They must possess excellent communication skills and a willingness to adapt to evening shifts in a UK accounting environment.
