Role Overview
The Transport Supervisor will manage day-to-day transport activity for middle-mile and domestic deliveries. This role is responsible for transport scheduling, route and vehicle planning, fleet utilization, driver coordination, and making sure deliveries are completed on time while meeting operational targets and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize daily transport plans, including schedules, routing, and vehicle assignments.
- Track fleet usage, delivery performance, and productivity, and look for ways to improve them.
- Guide and support drivers and transport coordinators to keep operations running smoothly.
- Use Transport Management Systems such as TMS and Oracle Transport Management for planning, dispatch, tracking, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate delivery updates and operational documentation.
- Handle delivery exceptions, service delays, and customer complaints or escalations.
- Ensure transport activities follow safety rules, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare operational reports and review performance data to support continuous improvement.
- Work closely with warehouse teams, customer service, and other partners to ensure deliveries are executed seamlessly.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related discipline. At least 3 years of experience in transport, logistics, or distribution operations is required, along with hands-on exposure to transport planning, fleet oversight, and driver supervision. Strong working knowledge of Transport Management Systems and Microsoft Office tools is important, as are communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. The role also calls for someone who can juggle multiple priorities in a demanding operational setting.
