About the Role
Our client, a prominent Electrical Contractor servicing the Irish residential and commercial construction markets, is looking for a skilled Training Coordinator to bolster their ongoing expansion. This role focuses on crafting and executing comprehensive training initiatives to strengthen skill sets and ensure compliance among site teams, especially electricians and apprentices. The position aims to foster a robust learning environment and uphold exceptional performance standards throughout the organization, while encouraging ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of a comprehensive training program designed to uphold premier electrical installation standards across all business sectors.
- Design and deliver engaging and practical training sessions tailored to all experience levels, from first-year apprentices to fully qualified electricians.
- Help prepare educational resources including training manuals and workshop materials to enhance knowledge transfer.
- Support the recruitment and induction process for new apprentices.
- Encourage mentorship relationships between senior electricians and apprentices to facilitate effective on-site experiential learning.
- Contribute to the development of future foremen from among qualified electricians.
- Regularly evaluate and refine training programs to ensure critical skill gaps are addressed and ongoing improvements are implemented.
- Work closely with senior personnel to guarantee strict adherence to site safety and compliance training protocols.
- Drive a culture of continuous betterment and learning throughout the CE team.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong problem-solving aptitude with the flexibility to adjust training plans as circumstances change.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions within the CE business.
- Proficient in planning, organizing, and managing time effectively.
- Comfortable using IT tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Approachable demeanor with sensitivity to individual learning needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum three years of experience implementing Training and Development programs within the industrial or construction sectors.
- Background or experience in the Electrical or Construction industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Training-related certification such as QQI Level 6 or Train the Trainer is advantageous.
- The organization will provide additional professional development and mentorship to support growth in this role.
Work Location
- Primary training will take place at a Training Hub located in Stradone for offsite modules.
- On-site visits to client locations to oversee and conduct practical training activities.
- Coordination and scheduling of training efforts at the CE head office.
- The role involves spending approximately two to three days per week on-site.
