Trainee Manager

Overview

This role focuses on supporting the store management team in daily operations while gaining hands-on experience across various departments within the store.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably 1 year of retail experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
• Familiarity with cash and till handling is an advantage
• Experience working with fresh food products
• Strong verbal communication capabilities
• Effective in delegating tasks
• Highly motivated with a solid work ethic
• Commercially aware with a good understanding of brand values
• Passionate about the grocery retail sector
• Ability to thrive in fast-moving environments

Key Responsibilities

• Embody and promote Centra's brand values of pride, energy, imagination, and community focus
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet sales goals, including gross profit margin, net margin, waste control, and other key performance indicators set by the Store Manager
• Engage fully in all training programs and performance evaluations
• Maintain high standards for store presentation and merchandise display, following store planograms and guidelines
• Ensure proper implementation of product planograms and maintain accurate product ranges in-store
• Develop proficiency in stock management processes such as ordering, deliveries, stock rotation, and inventory control
• Take responsibility for managing specific departments as assigned
• Support and adapt to new initiatives and innovative work methods
