Job Overview

The Synthetic Flight Instructor position involves training airline crews transitioning to Airbus aircraft models by covering operational, technical, and performance aspects specific to their aircraft type(s). Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction on Airbus aircraft operations and technical details for specific aircraft types using Flight Training Devices, Fixed Base Simulators, and Full Flight Simulators to ensure crews can safely execute all normal and emergency procedures compliant with Airworthiness authorities.
  • Conduct theoretical training sessions for type-rating, flight operations, and aircraft performance courses.
  • Follow Airbus policies and standardization guidelines issued by Flight Development and Flight Standardization & Policy teams.
  • Complete instructor duties within established timeframes.
  • Assess trainees' progress and proficiency, determining if additional training is necessary to meet defined competency targets.
  • Engage in review and development of training programs upon HOT’s assignment.
  • Perform standardization tasks if appointed as an Airbus Standardizer.
  • Maintain exemplary airmanship to effectively instruct in a multicultural environment.
  • Assist with flight training audits, Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) evaluations, fly-outs, and qualifications.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Training.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Hold or have held a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and a Frozen Air Transport Pilot License (ATPL), or possess a valid ATPL.
  • Prior experience as a flight instructor or examiner is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3,000 flight hours as a pilot.
  • At least 1,500 hours flying Multi-Pilot Aeroplane (MPA) aircraft.
  • A minimum of 1,500 hours on Airbus Fly-by-Wire (FBW) aircraft types.
  • Proficiency in English with a minimum English Language Proficiency Rating of 5 to effectively communicate with trainees and authorities.
  • Completion of the Airbus Pilot Instructor Course (APIC) is considered an additional benefit.
