About the Role
Aruma is seeking a committed Support Worker to assist children, young people, and people with disabilities through personalised, person-centred support. The role is focused on helping individuals build independence, feel included, and access the support they need in daily life and within the community.
What You Will Do
- Provide tailored, high-quality support to people with disability on an individual basis.
- Help with personal care, mobility support, and the development of everyday living skills.
- Foster trusted relationships while offering guidance, encouragement, and emotional support.
- Encourage participation in community-based and recreational activities.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to carry out support plans effectively.
- Champion customer rights and support greater independence.
- Contribute to safe, trauma-informed settings for young people with complex needs.
What You’ll Need
- A strong commitment to human rights and making a positive difference.
- An empathetic, compassionate, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Certificate IV in Disability or Child, Youth & Family Intervention, or a willingness to complete it.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, a driver’s licence, and an NDIS Worker Check, or the willingness to obtain them.
- Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
