Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Position Overview

Join our Supply Chain team as a Strategic Sourcing Specialist based in Limerick, Ireland. This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier partnerships, and ensuring optimal value delivery across assigned categories. The specialist will collaborate with internal departments such as Legal, Contract Management, and Tax, and engage with suppliers to negotiate agreements and identify cost reduction opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full sourcing lifecycle including spend analysis, market research, supplier assessment, strategy creation, RFx process management, bid evaluation, contract oversight, and supplier performance tracking.
• Conduct negotiations for commercial terms on new and renewed contracts, including Master License Agreements, Cloud Agreements, Statements of Work, and Order Forms.
• Support internal teams during supplier selection and procurement processes, ensuring alignment with company policies and governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business needs, formulate RFPs, lead negotiations, and uncover savings possibilities.
• Partner with Legal, Contract Management, Tax, and other experts to develop and renew supplier contracts.
• Handle multiple supplier categories simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Analyze financial and operational data related to sourcing activities and supplier capabilities to guide decision-making.
• Lead sourcing projects and teams drawing on strategic sourcing best practices and supplier relationship management for key partners.
• Drive contract negotiations, including senior-level discussions, ensuring favorable commercial terms and risk mitigation.
• Design commercial strategies that balance cost efficiency, service excellence, risk control, and sustainable supplier value.

Candidate Profile

This role suits a strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities and commercial insight. Effective communication, negotiation prowess, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Candidates should be comfortable operating autonomously and thrive in cross-functional, international environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
• Background in category sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or related disciplines.
• Experience managing complex projects and diverse stakeholder groups across multiple locations.
• Proven ability to lead meetings and negotiations effectively.
• Preferred but not required: certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CIPS, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma.
• Knowledge of IT, Technology, Software, Cloud, or Telecommunications sourcing highly desirable.
• Familiarity with SAP Ariba, SAP, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office tools is advantageous.
• Understanding of commercial legal terms and contracting principles is a plus.
