Job Overview

The Stockist plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager by managing merchandise receipt and shipment, organizing stockrooms, controlling inventory, and maintaining cleanliness within the store. Working closely with the store team, the Stockist helps ensure timely replenishment, outstanding customer service, and optimal product placement.

Key Duties

• Receive and count incoming stock items, accurately recording data electronically.
• Oversee all shipments, transfers, and consignments to ensure smooth processing.
• Pack and unpack items for shelving in compliance with company policies.
• Conduct periodic physical stock counts, compare with records, and investigate or correct discrepancies.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control shrinkage to meet company standards.
• Store items neatly and accessibly in warehouses or storage rooms.
• Label stock items with identification tags or numbers to facilitate easy retrieval.
• Clean and maintain equipment, supplies, and storage areas, including organizing a thorough warehouse cleaning monthly.
• Inspect stock for damage or defects and report findings to supervisors.
• Assist or guide other staff working in stockrooms or storage facilities.
• Dispose of or return damaged or defective goods appropriately.
• Liaise with main couriers to coordinate stock pickups and deliveries.
• Prepare and maintain detailed inventory reports, price lists, and shipment records.
• Manage supply orders by reviewing contracts, purchase orders, and requisitions to meet store needs.
• Ensure excellent after-sales service, accuracy, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with production teams regarding defective items and coordinate repairs efficiently with local suppliers.
• Suggest disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete inventory items.
• Contribute to visual merchandising stock management and communicate about props or mannequins availability.
