Job Overview
The Specialist – Licensing Governance plays a vital role in assisting the Senior Manager of Ports & Marine Licensing with managing the licensing operations throughout AD Ports Group. This position ensures that all associated entities such as subsidiaries, tenants, service providers, and third-party projects within port waters possess proper authorization and comply fully with applicable Federal and Emirate legislation as well as AD Ports Group policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in processing licensing, permit, and registration applications promptly and effectively to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Perform routine compliance audits for licensing applicants and provide analytical support to verify legal and regulatory adherence.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data management policies related to licensing, ensuring precise record maintenance and reporting.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders engaged in the licensing processes; organize workshops and information sessions to clarify licensing requirements and answer queries.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager to revise and improve licensing policies and procedures, guaranteeing alignment with organizational objectives and regulations.
- Remain up to date with legislative changes affecting licensing, assisting with implementing updates and exploring ways to optimize processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Support management of the Licensing Budget by monitoring expenditures and aiding in resource allocation.
- Ensure all licensing activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System standards to foster a safe workplace.
- Provide additional business support on various assignments such as research, reporting, and data analysis as directed by the Senior Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a closely related field; an MBA or Master’s degree is preferred.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
- At least six years’ relevant experience working with port and marine business sectors and/or government agencies focused on streamlining regulations, licensing, and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures essential to issuing business licenses and permits.
- Comfortable using IT/database and web-based platforms that automate licensing processes.
