Site Civil Engineer

Role Overview

The Site Civil Engineer is responsible for supporting Project Managers and Resident Engineers in managing day-to-day project operations. This includes inspecting construction activities to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications, participating in quality control and assurance, and documenting any non-conformance issues. The role requires coordination with contractors and other professionals to oversee project progression and adherence to technical and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend site meetings and assist with coordination between main contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct site inspections and generate detailed site visit reports, including non-conformance reports for contractors.
• Monitor on-site quality, conduct defect snagging inspections, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Review IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings prior to site distribution.
• Carry out technical and feasibility studies, including site investigations.
• Liaise effectively with architects, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Compile job specifications and oversee tendering processes.
• Resolve design and development challenges as they arise.
• Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including health and safety regulations.
• Evaluate the sustainability and environmental impact of the project.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Perform any additional related duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the UAE, specifically handling residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use development projects within a consultancy setting.
• Proficiency and practical knowledge in piling works.
• Strong technical skills and background in civil engineering.
• Leadership qualities with a confident and assertive personality.
• Ability to manage personal transportation for site visits.
• Arabic language skills are considered an advantage.
• Immediate availability to start the role.
