Role Overview
Based in Dublin, this full-time on-site position involves fabricating, assembling, and fitting ventilation ductwork and associated components made from sheet metal according to technical drawings and specifications. Tasks include measuring, cutting materials, shaping and joining metal parts, operating hand and power tools, and basic welding as necessary. The role requires checking workmanship accuracy, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, coordinating with other trades on-site, and contributing to timely project completion. Additional duties include assisting in maintenance or repair of existing ventilation systems while adhering strictly to health and safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in sheet metal work including cutting, forming, and assembly.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools typically used in fabrication and installation.
- Knowledge of welding methods pertinent to ventilation and ductwork fabrication.
- Experience in aircraft or other high-precision metalworking environments is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Good physical endurance and capability to work under varied onsite conditions such as at heights or within confined spaces.
- Possession of relevant trade qualifications, apprenticeships, or equivalent practical experience in sheet metal or mechanical trades.
- Dependability, organization skills, and ability to function independently or collaboratively within a team.
