Job Overview

Work Environment and Location
This role involves servicing wind farms across regional Australia. It is important to note that this is not a FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) position, so residing within the region is necessary. Potential work locations include:
- Western Australia: Merredin, Jurien Bay, Geraldton
- South Australia: Port Augusta/Whyalla, Millicent/Mount Gambier
- Victoria: Warrnambool, Ballarat, Sale
- New South Wales: Canberra/Goulburn, Inverell/Glen Innes
- Queensland: Hughenden, Chinchilla/Dulacca, Atherton
- Tasmania: Musselroe, Granville Harbour
Work hours are approximately 8 hours per day with on-call duty once every 3-4 weeks on weekends. Expected travel is around 50 days per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to safety and environmental protocols while meeting service targets.
- Conduct routine service inspections following Vestas’ detailed standards and perform repair, replacement, and troubleshooting tasks on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Ensure turbines function smoothly, utilizing condition monitoring and remote control systems.
- Manage service vehicle and warehouse stock efficiently by ordering necessary materials, tools, and spare parts timely.
- Assemble and maintain components according to current standards and use cranes when applicable.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics coupled with a desire to enhance skills in these domains.
- Proficient computer abilities for task monitoring and documentation.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
- Ability to work at heights, including climbing wind turbines and undertaking physically demanding tasks in diverse weather conditions.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as needed.
- Enjoys collaborating within teams and coordinating with various stakeholders, linking with field teams and the broader business.
- Independent, solution-focused, and well-organized in performing job duties.
