Senior Vice President – Construction

Overview

The Ghoman Group is searching for an experienced Senior Vice President - Construction to provide strategic leadership for commercial construction and renovation projects. This executive role involves overseeing operations, managing project teams, budgeting, ensuring safety and quality standards, and optimizing project delivery across multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-level leadership and set strategic priorities for all construction activities.
• Manage a range of commercial construction, renovation, and capital projects from initial planning through final completion.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance project efficiency, increase profitability, and maintain quality standards.
• Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, estimators, and other construction staff members.
• Create and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, remain on schedule, and stay within budget.
• Review contracts, bid proposals, scheduling details, and change orders to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Build productive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify potential risks and resolve complex issues that arise during construction.
• Monitor financial performance including costs, forecasts, and overall profitability.
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA rules, building codes, and corporate safety policies.
• Work closely with executive leadership on business growth strategies and development initiatives.
• Participate in contract negotiations, client meetings, and project planning sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
• At least 10 years of advancing leadership experience in commercial construction with 5 or more years in senior managerial or executive positions.
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
• Proven ability to oversee large, multi-project construction portfolios successfully.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
• Familiarity with construction management software such as Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
• Financial and business insight with experience managing organizational and project budgets.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
