About the Role and Project

NTU International is preparing a proposal for the EU-funded project "Technical Assistance to the Energy Transition Support Program in Benin (ATE)" aimed at accelerating Benin's energy transition through renewable energy development, improved electricity access, and promotion of sustainable energy solutions. The program supports the development of policy, regulatory, and institutional frameworks encouraging investments in renewable energies and sustainable energy infrastructure.

NTU International seeks a Senior Expert in Renewable Energies to support renewable energy projects and implement reforms related to Benin's energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing policies, strategies, and programs related to renewable energy.
• Provide technical support on solar, hybrid, biomass, and other renewable energy projects.
• Contribute to the preparation and assessment of renewable energy and sustainable electrification projects.
• Support technical, economic, and institutional studies related to energy investments.
• Advise beneficiary institutions on mechanisms to integrate renewables into the national energy mix.
• Support the development of regulatory and technical frameworks for renewable infrastructures.
• Engage in dialogue with investors, private developers, and technical and financial partners.
• Help develop technical documents, sector reports, and strategic recommendations.
• Participate in capacity building activities for energy sector institutions.
• Contribute to monitoring indicators and results related to renewable energy development.

Educational Qualifications

Master’s degree (BAC+5) in Energy, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, Energy Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• At least 10 years of overall professional experience in the energy sector.
• Proven experience in renewable energy or electrification projects.
• Work experience with EU-funded programs or other international donors such as the World Bank, AfDB, AFD, GIZ.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in developing or managing renewable energy projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in photovoltaic solar technologies, mini-grids, hybrid systems, or off-grid solutions.
• Strong understanding of energy sector regulatory and technical frameworks.
• Experience in feasibility studies, techno-economic analyses, or energy project structuring.
• Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly West Africa, is highly preferred.
• Experience in Benin or the ECOWAS region is advantageous.

Languages

• Excellent command of spoken and written French (minimum C1 level).
• Good professional knowledge of English is an asset.
