Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Analyst to join our Search Product Analytics team in Bengaluru. This role involves partnering with Search product and engineering teams to harness eBay's extensive data ecosystem, uncovering insights that influence the Search roadmap and foster customer-focused innovation within our marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of analytics for a major Search product domain such as ranking, relevance, personalization, or query understanding.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to establish precise success metrics tied to both buyer and business outcomes, and formulate well-grounded hypotheses based on data and customer behavior.
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and causal inference studies, translating detailed analytical results into clear and actionable recommendations.
- Serve as the analytical liaison among Search, Personalization, Ads, and Buyer Experience groups to fully capture user intent and behavioral patterns.
- Deliver precise, scalable analyses using SQL, Python, and visualization tools, while creating reusable datasets and dashboards to accelerate decision-making.
- Enhance experimentation workflows and clarity of reporting to elevate analytical quality within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Between 3 to 7 years in product analytics or in roles focused on experimentation.
- Advanced understanding of A/B testing design, causal inference methods, and experimentation measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python programming, along with experience using data visualization software such as Tableau.
- Strong grounding in statistical principles and hypothesis testing driven by data.
- Successful history of generating insights that result in tangible product improvements.
- Effective communication skills capable of transforming data findings into clear, actionable narratives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Search, ranking algorithms, personalization, or operating in marketplace platforms.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and handling data at scale.
- Knowledge of evaluating machine learning models and relevance metrics.
- Experience in redefining metrics and building reusable analytics frameworks.
- Advanced academic degree in a quantitative discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.
