Role Overview

The Senior Manager Treasury Operations Control will oversee all Treasury Control workflows, ensuring accurate real-time monitoring of trading positions, profit and loss, and compliance with limits to uphold risk management and profitability. The role demands timely and precise management reporting accompanied by appropriate analysis and explanations. It also involves ensuring transaction accuracies within production systems and delivering prompt and reliable reporting outputs. Leadership responsibilities include guiding, training, and developing a Treasury Control team in a collaborative, teamwork-driven environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage operational support for Treasury’s asset and liability management.
  • Supervise a team of 5-6 employees handling 40,000-45,000 annual transactions.
  • Fully control Treasury Control Unit activities and act as deputy for Treasury Operations Middle Office functions.
  • Design and implement key performance indicators and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure investment positions adhere to QNB strategies and Qatar Central Bank limits.
  • Support audit processes by collaborating with internal and external auditors.
  • Foster strong partnerships with related business units and provide assistance for treasury-related inquiries.
  • Maintain established service levels with internal stakeholders.
  • Regularly monitor treasury limits and standing instructions; prepare treasury statistics and comply with audit demands.
  • Observe Islamic treasury transactions and liaise with banks and financial institutions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile trading positions and profit and loss statements with Front Office records.
  • Ensure all investment and capital market exceptions receive necessary approvals.
  • Supervise trading balances, international shareholdings, and investment portfolios.
  • Provide operational support to international branches and subsidiaries.
  • Manage OPICS system settings, including counterparties, securities, rate adjustments, settlement instructions, and accounts.
  • Oversee repo agreements and ensure adherence to EMIR and MRUD regulations.

Learning and Knowledge Requirements

  • Possess a thorough understanding of capital markets, investment products, accounting practices, liquidity management, and treasury instruments.
  • Familiarity with treasury and back-office systems, including processing workflows, accounting standards, payment mechanisms, and reporting requirements.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of substantive experience in an international banking environment, Treasury operations, investment controls, or related areas.
