About the Performance Improvement Practice
This division supports Private Equity and Corporate clients worldwide by providing comprehensive services during the investment life cycle, including transaction advisory, performance improvement, turnaround efforts, interim and crisis management. Expertise spans pre-M&A due diligence, merger integration, growth strategies post-M&A, corporate finance advisory, organizational and cost transformations, supply chain optimization, manufacturing operational enhancement, and CFO finance leadership. The group distinguishes itself through its results-oriented focus and hands-on leadership even in complex circumstances.
Role Overview
A&M is expanding in Southeast Asia and seeks Senior Manager-level personnel to conduct research, analysis, modeling, and prepare reports and presentations for diverse engagements involving complex and high-profile challenges. The role demands delivering swift, impactful results with emphasis on improving profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to gather comprehensive information ensuring all relevant sources are examined.
- Lead client interviews, pose insightful questions, and understand varying stakeholder viewpoints.
- Identify gaps in knowledge, challenge existing assumptions, and develop more accurate hypotheses.
- Diagnose principal business issues, forecast financial and liquidity performance accurately, detect operational inefficiencies, and evaluate organizational structure including roles and teams.
- Present challenges and opportunities clearly and succinctly.
- Ensure logical, feasible, and precise project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Consistently manage and set clear client expectations.
- Spot risks and roadblocks early, formulate contingency plans, and maintain timely client communication.
- Manage and complete multiple project segments simultaneously.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or any discipline with strong quantitative skills, coupled with excellent academic achievements.
- Between 3-4 years in strategy consulting or 6-8 years of relevant corporate or industry experience.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities, with creativity in problem-solving.
- Skilled at extracting valuable insights from large and potentially incomplete data sets.
- Strong organizational capacity to handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including communication and teamwork; demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, maturity, and results-focused work ethic.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills capable of engaging effectively from operational staff to C-level executives.
- Proven track record delivering performance improvement initiatives, ideally in client-site centric roles, within top strategy firms, specialized advisory firms, or the Big Four consultancies.
- Diverse industry experience including telecommunications, automotive, manufacturing, energy, retail, consumer goods, transportation, business services, and healthcare sectors.
- Knowledge of operational KPIs, Balanced Scorecards, and performance review frameworks to foster ongoing operational enhancements.
- Detail-oriented with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in other ASEAN languages such as Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Thai, or Vietnamese is advantageous.
- Preparedness to travel as required.
