Senior Java Developer (Full Stack)

Overview

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with a growing and profitable organisation building out a new product offering. The role is based in Adelaide CBD, in newly refurbished modern offices, and follows a hybrid working model. You must live in Adelaide and be available to work from the office 2 to 3 days each week.

As a senior full stack engineer, you will help shape new functionality, refine core platform capabilities, and contribute to a product at an early stage of its development and launch. The position suits someone who combines practical engineering judgement with a focus on secure, scalable, and high-quality delivery.

What you will do

• Design, build, and support robust, scalable solutions for a payments platform.
• Use AI-enabled development tools to speed up delivery, explore architecture, and map out complex dependencies.
• Make sure performance, stability, and security are built into everything released.
• Investigate issues using diagnostic tools and resolve them efficiently.
• Work with product, engineering, and client stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Take part in technical conversations and solution design with confidence and curiosity.

Skills and experience

• 7 to 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java development.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases, especially MySQL, along with object-oriented concepts.
• Experience working with Spring Core, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSP.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
• Ability to write thorough test cases for new code.
• Exposure to banking, finance, billing, or payments systems is helpful, though not required.
