Role Overview
The Senior Contract Administrator plays a pivotal role in overseeing contract administration during both construction and operational phases on a significant light rail infrastructure programme. This position entails managing Consultancy and Advisor Contracts, ensuring smooth execution according to contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive contract administration support for a major rail infrastructure project, focusing on construction and operational transition phases.
- Lead administration of Consultancy and Advisor Contracts, guaranteeing compliance and effective management.
- Manage the contract manual, processes, and procedures related to claims, coordination of meetings, and communication; ensure timely resolution or escalation of issues.
- Maintain organized filing and documentation systems for accurate record keeping and audit readiness.
- Supervise financial management procedures adhering to defined processes and maintain precise financial records.
- Identify and implement suitable contract administration systems (e.g., CEMAR) during procurement stages.
- Assess, identify, and mitigate risks associated with construction and operational phases.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in the course of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
- Over 10 years of experience in contract administration, including at least 5 years leading contract administration through all project lifecycle stages within high-value metro rail or similarly complex projects.
- Experienced with large Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contracts.
- Proven capability handling commercial agreements and legal contract risk awareness; skilled in drafting complex, bespoke contract terms and commercial conditions across supply, service, and framework agreements.
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting best practices in technical activities, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Deep understanding of design and delivery requirements in technical architectural, engineering, and construction projects.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement at all organizational levels, influencing process improvements and supporting project delivery and reporting.
- Knowledgeable in quality management and process improvement systems, preferably within the construction sector.
