Job Summary
The Senior Business Analyst position is part of a distributed engineering team focused on driving key strategic initiatives and improving business outcomes. The role involves contributing across the entire project lifecycle, from gathering requirements to overseeing delivery and continual optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business needs, converting them into actionable analyses and plans that support effective software delivery and service reliability.
- Work alongside Platform Engineers, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineers, Product Managers, and Engineers within an Agile framework to define system requirements, service level agreements (SLAs), and success metrics; lead cross-functional meetings and decision-making processes.
- Evaluate and specify operational requirements to maintain high system availability, performance, and monitoring capabilities; contribute to incident response planning and post-incident analyses focusing on business impact.
- Identify automation and tooling opportunities that enhance process efficiency, decrease manual tasks, and optimize costs; articulate the business value of automation as part of business cases.
- Ensure all business requirements incorporate secure-by-default design principles and comply with regulatory and security standards; support risk assessment and control mapping efforts.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least 7 years of professional experience in business analysis, product analytics, requirements management, or related fields, with the seniority level guided by interview evaluation.
- Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for remote collaboration; able to convert business needs into well-defined requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable indicators.
- Proven track record managing diverse stakeholders including product, engineering, operations, and leadership.
- Skilled in requirements elicitation, process mapping, data analysis, and modeling using methods such as user stories, use cases, flow diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Trello, MS Teams, and Slack; basic understanding of cloud computing platforms and DevOps concepts is advantageous.
