Senior Billing Executive

Job Overview

The role of Senior Billing Executive within the Outpatient (OP) Billing / Revenue Cycle Management department at a hospital located in Hyderabad involves ensuring precise and timely billing for outpatient services. This position reports to the Billing Supervisor or Billing Manager and demands expertise in managing patient accounts, billing accuracy, and payment collections while adhering strictly to hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correct invoices for outpatient consultations, laboratory tests, radiology services, pharmacy items, and other hospital offerings.
• Confirm patient registration data, insurance eligibility, and billing information prior to invoicing.
• Manage payment acceptance via cash, card, UPI, and authorized payment modes and provide official receipts.
• Administer billing for insurance, third-party administrators (TPA), corporate accounts, and self-paying patients in alignment with hospital guidelines.
• Liaise with medical staff and departments including doctors, nurses, labs, and pharmacy to ensure all charges are captured accurately.
• Address and resolve any discrepancies and patient queries related to billing promptly.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations and generate collection reports.
• Maintain comprehensive billing documentation for auditing purposes.
• Handle refunds, cancellations, and billing modifications following appropriate authorization.
• Protect patient privacy and remain compliant with hospital and regulatory billing policies.
• Assist in month-end billing operations and prepare management reports.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related disciplines.
• Have 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in outpatient billing within hospital or healthcare environments.
• Familiarity with Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
