School Custodial Cleaner

Job Overview

Seeking a dependable School Custodian to carry out cleaning tasks in designated K-12 school, college, or university campus locations. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other assigned spaces.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in allocated areas including sweeping, mopping floors, removing debris, and cleaning spills.
• Empty trash receptacles regularly across assigned spaces.
• Use cleaning chemicals and power equipment responsibly to avoid damage to flooring and fixtures.
• Report required repairs or additions to building systems to lead cleaner or manager.
• Establish effective communication and cooperation with clients, coworkers, supervisors, and management.
• Separate and consolidate recyclables appropriately.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, doors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
• Polish hard surfaces such as woodwork and stainless steel.
• Sanitize food area tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed using manual effort or hand trucks.
• Wash interior glass surfaces including windows, partitions, and mirrors.
• Perform seasonal outdoor tasks like sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, and snow removal.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in restrooms by cleaning and polishing as required.
• Follow all company and regulatory safety, security, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience or high school diploma/GED needed; on-the-job training provided.
• Preferred candidates have customer service experience and at least one year in a similar cleaning role.
