Role Summary
The Sandwich Maker is a vital member of the Culinary team responsible for preparing a variety of sandwiches and specialty items for bagged lunch programs. This role requires working both day and night shifts in a remote camp setting in Moosonee, Ontario. The focus is on producing well-presented, high-quality products while adhering to established recipes and hygiene standards.
Work Environment and Amenities
- All meals and accommodations are provided on site.
- Transportation to and from the site from designated locations is provided.

- Laundry facilities and detergents are provided.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, including specialty compounds like egg salad and tuna, in line with standard recipes and menu requirements.
- Ensure food products are rotated properly to minimize spoilage and waste.
- Coordinate daily sandwich preparation setups.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workplace complying with company and regulatory hygiene standards, including cleaning floors, counters, shelves, fixtures, fridges, and walls.
- Inspect the appearance of all cold food to ensure colors and presentation remain appealing.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for all sandwich varieties.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale cooking environments such as camps, banquet halls, or hotels is highly advantageous.
- Previous mass-production sandwich-making experience is preferred.
- Current Food Safe certification is an asset.
- Capability to commit to a rotational schedule of two weeks on-site followed by two weeks off.
- Strong team collaboration skills with a commitment to client satisfaction.
- Possession of valid government-issued photo identification for accessing the work site.
- Ability to complete a Criminal Background Check.
- Physical capability to handle tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders or stairs, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, sitting for prolonged periods, repetitive hand movements, and working with arms at full length or above shoulder height.

Work Schedule
Employees work on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational basis. The position is based in remote locations requiring air or ground shuttle transport. Shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays, and weekdays.
