Role overview
TripHoppa is expanding its logistics and cargo movement network across Rwanda and the wider East African region, handling shipments from the USA, China, the UAE, the UK, and Canada into Rwanda. The position is centered on turning incoming enquiries into confirmed business as quickly and effectively as possible.
This is an entry-level opportunity for someone energetic, quick-thinking, and comfortable speaking with people. The company is looking for a person who is ready to begin a real sales career and take ownership rather than simply observe from the sidelines.
It is a full-time, onsite position in Kigali, Rwanda. The intended start date is as soon as possible, and working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What the role is meant to solve
Speed matters in this job. Customers often contact multiple providers at once through WhatsApp, and the first meaningful reply usually determines who wins the sale. Delayed responses can cause revenue opportunities to disappear.
The work also involves handling a high enquiry volume, with thousands of leads expected each month. A key part of the job is identifying which enquiries are genuine opportunities and focusing on the ones most likely to close, without ignoring the rest.
Core duties
- Respond to incoming enquiries within minutes rather than waiting hours.
- Make direct phone calls when needed instead of relying only on text messages.
- Quickly separate serious prospects from low-value or irrelevant enquiries.
- Learn the company’s routes well enough to answer customer questions accurately.
- Share pricing details, follow up consistently, and work to close deals, especially larger ones.
- Maintain an accurate personal sales pipeline.
- Develop strong client relationships that encourage repeat business.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, since leadership may not always be physically present. Strong people skills, fast response times, and the ability to stay organized under pressure are essential.
No prior experience is required, but the company wants someone who is genuinely motivated to start a sales career and who is willing to learn quickly.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and/or French is considered an added advantage.
Compensation
The salary range for this entry-level role is RWF 150,000 to RWF 450,000, depending on skills and experience. The company also notes that pay can increase with proven performance, and bonuses are available for strong results.
Application instructions
Applicants should send a two-minute video, or a voice note if video is a genuine obstacle, explaining why they are a strong fit for the role. A resume is optional but welcome. Candidates should also share their salary expectation.
Applications are preferred through WhatsApp, and responsiveness is treated as part of the interview process. Email is also accepted as an alternative.
Additional notes
This role is described as an entry-level position for a young, energetic candidate who is ready to take responsibility and grow quickly in a performance-driven sales environment.
