Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits.
- Continuously monitor site processes to confirm they meet Amazon's safety standards.
- Compile and update detailed safety metric reports for team use.
- Collaborate with Operations and cross-functional teams on safety initiatives and provide procedural guidance.
- Assist in implementing new health and safety protocols.
Daily Activities
You will be stationed onsite, enabling direct observation of daily operations and easy accessibility for colleague inquiries. Your primary responsibility will be to identify potential safety hazards proactively. Familiarity with the operation of equipment and workflows will help you propose effective safety improvements. You will play a vital role in enacting safety modifications and support the Operations team with additional safety-related tasks as needed. Collecting and analyzing critical safety data will ensure ongoing compliance and improvement, alongside sharing insights with various business areas to prioritize safety culture.
Team Environment
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team is dedicated to promoting both physical and mental wellbeing at work. Collaborating with management, staff, and regulatory agencies, the team guarantees adherence to Amazon's internal policies and legal health and safety requirements, fostering a safe working environment. This team encompasses various positions—from Safety Technicians to Programme Managers—each contributing to the overarching safety strategy network-wide.
Qualifications
- National General Certificate NEBOSH or NVQ Level 3 certification.
- Proficiency in written and oral English communication.
- Experience interpreting and producing safety data analytics.
- Understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
Preferred Expertise
- While not mandatory, familiarity with Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies is advantageous.
- Background in planning or managing sustainability or environmentally conscious projects.
- Able to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team.
