Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence to Safety and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements at all operational locations.
  • Lead rigorous risk assessments of current safety conditions across sites, ensuring mechanical equipment availability meets business plan targets.
  • Identify and address safety hazards and procedural gaps, recommending corrective actions aligned with statutory and ISO standards.
  • Promote a zero-harm culture by reducing leading safety indicators throughout all units.
  • Manage and enhance MIS (Management Information System) efficiency through software development and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Oversee investigations of workplace incidents, ensuring detailed and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate the identification and delivery of safety and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) training needs per unit.
  • Benchmark Hindustan Zinc's safety practices against global leaders, fostering collaboration to implement industry best practices.
  • Engage with external safety experts and trainers to facilitate specialized training programs.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external safety audits, including those by VSAP, ISO, and BRSR auditors.

Candidate Profile and Attributes

  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering specialized in Fire & Safety or a Master’s degree in Industrial Safety is preferred.
  • Experience in the mining and smelting sectors is essential.
