About the Role

Digicel Pacific is seeking a dedicated Road Safety Coordinator to be based in Port Moresby. Reporting directly to the Fleet Manager, this role is focused on ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and managing driver behavior within the corporate fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously observe and monitor driver conduct concerning issues such as speeding, failure to use seat belts, mobile phone usage while driving, idling, unauthorized vehicle use, and promptly escalate these incidents to relevant supervisors.
  • Follow up on management's responses to escalated incidents and if unresolved, escalate further to the Head of Facilities and appropriate Heads of Departments.
  • Generate monthly reports from the tracking system detailing driver behaviors like speeding, idling, after-hours journeys, and fuel consumption; prepare comprehensive dashboards and highlight critical concerns for presentation to senior management.
  • Provide roadside assistance for accidents or vehicle breakdowns within Port Moresby.
  • Support the Fleet Manager in conducting thorough investigations into road accidents and vehicle misuse, offering detailed conclusions and recommendations.
  • Manage the renewal of vehicle registrations and safety stickers, ensuring full adherence to legal requirements.
  • Assist with other Fleet team duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Completion of Grade 12 Certificate is mandatory; tertiary education will be considered an advantage.
  • At least three years of professional experience working with corporate vehicle fleets.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication.
  • Competent in data interpretation and reporting.
  • Computer literate.
  • Possession of a valid Class 6 Driver’s License.
