Role Overview
As a Road Safety Auditor, you will blend your engineering know-how with AI-driven insights to evaluate road systems, detect safety hazards early, and empower public agencies and consultants with data-backed recommendations that save lives.
Key Duties
- Perform Road Safety Audits (RSA) and safety evaluations for various road infrastructure projects.
- Examine road design elements including geometry, intersections, signage, markings, barriers, pedestrian provisions, and roadside equipment.
- Confirm and supplement AI-derived safety observations by identifying additional risk factors.
- Compile detailed audit reports, offer solutions, and produce technical documentation.
- Collaborate with transport authorities, consultants, and infrastructure operators to promote safety enhancements.
- Work in multidisciplinary teams comprising AI, GIS, engineering, and product experts to advance safety analytic tools.
- Participate in diverse projects impacting multiple countries and road networks.
Qualifications and Expertise
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Transportation, Traffic Engineering, or relevant disciplines.
- Sound knowledge of road safety concepts, traffic engineering, and transportation system dynamics.
- Previous experience conducting road safety audits, site inspections, or traffic studies.
- Familiarity with global road safety standards and recognized best practices.
- Excellent analytical abilities, communication skills, and proficiency in technical report writing.
Preferred Credentials
- Certification as a Road Safety Auditor is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with highway authorities, transport agencies, or infrastructure consultants.
- Awareness of frameworks such as iRAP, PIARC, Austroads, AASHTO, or similar road safety methodologies.
- Exposure to GIS systems, road asset management, or digital infrastructure technologies.
- Interest in AI, Computer Vision, and innovative data-driven infrastructure solutions.
