The position involves managing all phases of project execution, from order confirmation to installation, commissioning, project handover, and subsequent after-sales service. Collaboration with customers, distributors, suppliers, engineers, and internal teams is essential to ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.

The candidate will be stationed in Malaysia and must be prepared for frequent travel across ASEAN and certain African regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and on deadline, promptly addressing any issues that arise.
  • Manage logistics of equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning in partnership with local engineers and suppliers.
  • Facilitate customer acceptance and go-live activities, supporting smooth handovers.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, hospitals, contractors, and distributors to uphold strong relationships and manage expectations.
  • Support local distribution partners in project execution and service-related matters.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date project documentation, schedules, checklists, and records.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and updates for management review on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Track project costs, reporting deviations, and assist in quotation, costing, tender preparation, and logistical planning as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local safety, regulatory, and organizational standards, identifying and escalating risks proactively.
  • Promote a culture of high professional standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to business development, regulatory affairs, and operational activities as assigned management duties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Healthcare Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Project management certification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, ideally in the medical devices, diagnostics, imaging, radiotherapy, or similar technical equipment sectors.
  • Experience collaborating with hospitals, distributors, contractors, or technical service teams is advantageous.
  • Prior regional project management exposure preferred; experience with tender bids and direct customer installations valued.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project coordination, planning, and follow-up abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills grounded in practical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Languages such as Mandarin and/or Malay are beneficial.
  • Willingness and capability for frequent regional travel across ASEAN and parts of Africa are required.
