Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and solution-driven professional specialized in product safety and quality to oversee merchandise and furniture quality management. This role emphasizes consistent execution of product safety programs specific to North and Latin American markets. The candidate will collaborate extensively across teams, including Global Product Safety & Quality partners and suppliers, to maintain compliance with consumer product safety standards and sustain customer trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply broad technical knowledge to develop, implement, and monitor product safety and quality standards, providing guidance on these programs.
- Use analytical and solution-focused approaches to resolve complex business challenges, staying informed on industry trends and fostering key initiatives through supplier and expert engagement.
- Design detailed plans for complex projects, identifying obstacles and defining success criteria.
- Collaborate across functions to communicate findings and influence decisions effectively among stakeholders and leadership.
- Establish standards, procedures, and tools to ensure supplier and facility compliance. Lead training and program implementation related to supplier quality and product safety.
- Apply technical expertise in testing, supplier assessments, and product evaluations.
- Lead facility audits, verify supplier documentation accuracy, assess supply chain risks, and ensure audits and corrective actions are completed timely. Participate in trial and commercialization processes when needed.
- Gather and analyze multiple data sources to recommend improvements, identify trends, and lead investigations to resolve product quality issues.
- Monitor product safety and quality metrics and customer feedback proactively, escalating issues as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product safety, quality, or similar roles.
- Familiarity with consumer product safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities for collaboration across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related area.
- Certification in product safety or quality disciplines.
- Experience within retail or consumer goods sectors.
- Exposure to global team and supplier coordination.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers an annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 dependent on geographic location, competencies, education, experience, and other qualifications.
