About Korowai Manaaki

Located in South Auckland, Korowai Manaaki is one of five youth justice residences nationwide. It offers a secure, nurturing environment for young people aged 13 to 18 involved in the Youth Justice system. The residence provides round-the-clock care supporting rangatahi to make positive changes, acknowledging the complex roots of offending and focusing on more than just punitive responses.

Role Overview

The Quality Lead plays a crucial role within the residence team, tasked with ensuring that the residence conforms to all internal and external regulatory standards and is continually enhancing its practices. This position focuses on delivering safe, reliable, and excellent services to rangatahi and their whānau, acting as the hub for monitoring and improving practice frameworks, care standards, and service expectations. The Quality Lead's efforts help shape policy and practice through actively integrating the voices of tamariki and rangatahi.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

• Maintain rigorous oversight and compliance with residence quality assurance standards.
• Analyze data and identify risks, contributing to enhanced reporting and streamlined processes.
• Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to support service delivery.
• Plan and optimize processes for effective service and health and safety standards.
• Embed Oranga Tamariki’s values and vision in all quality initiatives.
• Promote and respect cross-cultural practices including tikanga Māori and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to enhance care responsiveness.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in compliance management.
• Proven expertise in residence compliance and quality assurance frameworks.
• Ability to analyze operational information and risk factors confidently.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong commitment to Oranga Tamariki’s mission and goals.
• Full, current, and clean driver's licence.
