The Abbott Ireland Nutrition site in Sligo focuses on developing scientifically formulated nutritional products that address the needs of individuals at all ages and health conditions, promoting optimal growth, strength, and wellness.
Abbott leads in manufacturing enteral nutrition feeding devices such as feeding pumps and sets. Enteral feeding provides complete nutrition to individuals unable to feed orally. Position Summary
The Quality Coordinator role involves being part of the site quality team, responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance within the Carbury Point manufacturing environment. This is a day shift position with working hours Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday from 08:00 to 15:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process and final product sampling and testing.
- Coordinate documentation related to in-process work orders.
- Operate and maintain the electronic document management system.
- Support various departments with quality, technical, and documentation issues.
- Assist with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) investigations and action plans.
- Help with internal and supplier audits.
- Compile and coordinate quality metrics.
- Manage retain sample and stability sample programs.
- Provide laboratory support where qualified.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
- Offer flexible support across different business areas and undertake additional tasks as required.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards and regulations.
- Take accountability for EHS performance by participating actively in Abbott’s EHS programs.
- Report any workplace injuries or illnesses and assist with related investigations.
- Attend assigned EHS training sessions and support ongoing EHS initiatives.
Employment Conditions
Employment offers are contingent on passing a pre-employment medical exam, including drug and alcohol testing, administered by a designated medical practitioner.
Qualifications
- Leaving Certificate qualification plus at least three years of relevant working experience, including exposure to quality or compliance roles, or
- A third-level qualification in a pertinent discipline.
