Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and analytical QA/QC Engineer (Saudi National) to join our site supervision team in Riyadh. The role is pivotal in ensuring construction activities strictly adhere to project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and oversee Project Quality Plans, procedures, specifications, and Inspection & Test Plans across all construction phases.
- Develop and continuously improve the Quality Management System by creating and maintaining procedures, guidelines, templates, data collection tools, reports, and checklists that elevate performance and compliance.
- Plan and conduct internal and external quality audits, including supplier audits, followed by enforcing corrective and preventive measures.
- Identify and evaluate project risks proactively to anticipate and mitigate deviations in quality and scope.
- Supervise on-site and off-site construction tasks such as mock-ups, sample preparation, and manufacturing inspections (including FAT/SAT).
- Drive change management programs aimed at enhancing product quality, ensuring smooth adoption of new standards and processes.
- Offer daily support and guidance to project leaders and contractors regarding quality expectations and QMS adherence.
- Organize ongoing quality surveillance and coordination meetings to foster continuous improvements.
- Monitor contractors’ implementation of their QMS during project execution.
- Carry out inspections and testing for excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concreting, structural components, masonry, and finishing works.
- Review and validate material test reports, mix design proposals, and calibration certificates.
- Confirm that all materials brought to site meet approved submittals and applicable standards.
- Coordinate inspection requests and quality issues with clients and consultants.
- Document and update quality control records, including inspection reports, test results, Site Observation Reports, and Non-Conformance Reports.
- Manage NCRs comprehensively by analyzing root causes and applying preventive solutions employing Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
- Verify construction practices are aligned with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Assist in the evaluation and authorization of QA/QC documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies during all quality activities.
- Support initiatives aimed at continuous improvements and process enhancements.
- Analyze quality data to identify systemic problems and report key performance indicators and dashboards.
- Lead site walkthroughs, generate punch lists, and review documentation required for project handovers.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports—daily, weekly, monthly—to Quality Manager, Program Director, and Client representatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Certifications in ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 19011:2018 (Audit Management) are mandatory.
- Possession of a Civil Engineer license is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of proven experience in relevant roles.
- Good skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
- Strong organization and documentation capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems.
- Expertise in non-conformance reporting and corrective action implementation.
- Knowledge of testing procedures for construction materials.
- Highly analytical with keen attention to detail.
- Capability to make informed, timely decisions regarding quality matters.
- Team-oriented mindset, able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
