Role overview
A Dublin-based client is hiring a Python Developer for a permanent position within a team that is expanding its engineering capability across multiple departments. This is a chance to join a growing group in an interesting sector and contribute to a newly formed AI-focused team.
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience with Python development and a strong command of AWS serverless services, including Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB. Prior work on AI-oriented projects is required for this opportunity.
What you will do
- Build, test, support, and improve software products that are dependable, scalable, and secure.
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and architects to deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
- Help shape system architecture and technical choices in a cloud-native, serverless setup.
- Produce code that is clear, maintainable, and thoroughly tested.
- Follow strong engineering standards and established best practices.
- Take part in code reviews, pair programming, and team knowledge exchange.
- Diagnose, investigate, and fix software bugs and performance-related problems.
- Support ongoing improvements to development workflows and delivery pipelines.
Required experience and technical background
- 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Python.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design and clean coding principles.
- Practical experience with AWS, particularly serverless tools such as Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Exposure to JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Docker.
- Experience using monitoring and logging tools.
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn, grow, and contribute as part of a team.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
