About the Role

We are in search of a motivated Propulsion Engineer with practical experience working on cryogenic propulsion systems and turbopump-driven rocket engines. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and refinement of liquid propulsion technologies, with a deep understanding of Liquid Oxygen (LOX) handling, storage, and combustion processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cryogenic liquid propulsion systems tailored for rocket engines.
  • Optimize components such as combustion chambers, injectors, turbopumps, fuel feed lines, and nozzles.
  • Conduct system sizing, thermodynamic cycle studies, and performance calculations for engines.
  • Engineer and validate cryogenic propellant feed mechanisms.
  • Analyze combustion performance; formulate ignition sequences; enhance engine startup and shutdown procedures.
  • Support testing phases, including component-level and integrated engine hot-fire evaluations.
  • Perform thermal, structural, and fluid dynamics analyses aimed at boosting engine efficiency and dependability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (structures, avionics, guidance & control, manufacturing, and systems engineering).
  • Draft comprehensive technical documents, design reports, and verification plans.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols for handling, storing, and testing cryogenic propellants.

Technical Competencies

  • Experience with cryogenic propulsion systems and liquid rocket engines.
  • Expertise in turbopump design and analysis.
  • Skilled in handling liquid oxygen (LOX) and associated cryogenic fluid systems.
  • Knowledgeable in combustion and ignition system design.
  • Thorough understanding of propellant feed systems and engine performance evaluation.
  • Proficient in thermal management, including regenerative cooling techniques.
  • Familiar with CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools.
  • Hands-on experience in rocket engine testing and validation procedures.
