Role overview
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Project Planner will be responsible for creating, updating, and checking project schedules and control processes. The position calls for strong analytical ability, technical understanding, and communication skills, with an emphasis on forward planning, risk awareness, and tracking performance to support successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Build, update, and assess detailed master construction programmes and project control procedures for active projects.
- Prepare progress updates and present them to senior leadership.
- Work with key stakeholders to assess project progress, highlight risks, and contribute to practical problem-solving.
- Define and manage schedule resource needs across pre-construction, construction, and commissioning stages.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools that track progress against milestones and project objectives.
- Deliver performance and variance reports, together with recommended corrective actions where needed.
- Act as the planning representative in meetings with clients and subcontractors, clearly communicating schedule status and planning concerns.
- Assist with account management and business growth by fostering long-term client relationships.
- Own assigned projects and support team members on other projects when required.
- Promote adherence to company planning standards and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, ideally in a main contracting setting.
- Experience handling large projects, preferably in data centre or high-tech industrial environments.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and planning workflows.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject; familiarity with BIM or digital construction tools and processes is an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and logical reasoning skills, with knowledge of programming techniques and typical production rates.
- Excellent verbal and presentation abilities, including the capacity to explain complex planning topics clearly.
- Ability to work within strict and demanding deadlines.
- Good commercial awareness and a strong grasp of contractual and project management principles.
