Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Project Engineer to manage the design, planning, and execution phases associated with steel structure fabrication and metal interior projects. The candidate will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client needs, quality benchmarks, and budget guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review detailed technical specifications, structural and production drawings ensuring accuracy according to site conditions and incorporating necessary engineering modifications.
- Manage the shop drawing submission process, ensuring compliance with title block standards and project-specific numbering conventions.
- Develop comprehensive project schedules and regularly track progress to ensure deadlines are met.
- Coordinate effectively with site leadership, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Handle site logistics, procurement and timely delivery of materials.
- Supervise on-site installation involving structural steel and stainless steel interior components.
- Ensure all operations comply with approved methods, risk assessment protocols, and applicable standards such as BS codes.
- Lead inspection coordination (including MIR/WIR), manage technical queries, and enforce quality control procedures.
- Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor project financials, implement cost control measures, manage variations, and handle engineering change requests.
- Compile final project documentation including as-built drawings and warranty information.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in CAD drafting tools and adept at interpreting complex technical and structural plans.
- Experience working with steel structure fabrication, stainless steel interiors, and related metal fabrication tasks such as handrails, cage ladders, and cladding.
- Strong project management skills, capable of handling diverse project teams and client-consultant-subcontractor communications.
- Familiarity with structural standards and ability to prepare formal submissions including risk assessments and inspection test plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in roles such as project coordinator, engineer, or manager.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, industry best practices, and performance norms.
