Job Overview
We seek a dedicated PMO Controller to serve as the main coordinator for planning, financial oversight, and governance of a large-scale Temenos Core Banking Modernization initiative based in Doha, Qatar. This pivotal role integrates detailed workstream schedules into a comprehensive master plan, governs financial tracking, mitigates risks, and provides insightful executive program updates.
Key Duties
- Combine separate Waterfall workstream timelines into a unified Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Monitor cross-team dependencies, technical transitions, resource availability, and vendor delivery milestones.
- Conduct critical path analyses and assess the impact of delays on project timing and costs.
- Develop models to forecast the effect of scheduling delays on launch dates and program expenses.
- Collaborate with workstream leads to design recovery and acceleration strategies.
- Oversee multi-year capital and operational expenditure budgets related to the transformation program.
- Compare actual spending against set budgets, forecasting future costs to detect potential overruns.
- Handle invoice and delivery reconciliations between Temenos and system integrators and partner with finance teams on software capitalization.
- Maintain and control the program's comprehensive RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log.
- Monitor financial and scheduling implications of identified risks.
- Manage the Project Change Request (PCR) process, evaluating resource, schedule, and cost impacts from scope adjustments.
- Ensure all activities comply with the internal banking governance framework and regulatory standards.
- Track and report on Schedule Variance, Cost Variance, and Schedule Performance Index metrics.
- Create and update detailed executive dashboards and compile reports for Steering Committees, C-suite executives, and Board presentations.
- Simplify complex project information involving schedules, finances, risks, and dependencies into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in PMO functions, planning, and project control roles.
- Essential experience with large-scale Temenos core banking transformation or modernization projects.
- Expertise in Waterfall project delivery and gated lifecycle management methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge through phases including Requirements, Design, Build, Testing, Dress Rehearsal, and Go-Live.
- Proficiency in utilizing Critical Path Method (CPM) for scheduling and master schedule development.
- Demonstrated ability managing complex, multi-workstream project portfolios valued at $20 million or more.
- Experienced in supervising or mentoring junior PMO analysts or administrative personnel.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is advantageous.
- Preference given to candidates from Qatar or the broader Middle East region.
