Job description
About the Role
This position is for a Programme Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract within a premier UK retail company, playing an integral role in the Strategic Change function. The mandate is to deliver pivotal transformation initiatives spanning multiple business divisions and functions. The opportunity is suitable for candidates able to join immediately or with short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage major transformation programmes that include organisational, operational, and strategic business change, rather than just technology-based projects.
- Work closely with executive stakeholders and partner departments, such as Finance, HR, Technology, and Operations, ensuring cohesive delivery of change across the business.
- Oversee cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and governance of business-critical transformation initiatives.
- Maintain robust stakeholder management practices, including navigating complex organisational structures and collaborating with senior leadership to secure buy-in and alignment on programme objectives.
- Drive governance and best practices in programme delivery, ensuring milestones, risks, and business outcomes are rigorously monitored and communicated.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Programme Manager, specifically in leading business change initiatives within large organisations.
- Background working in retail businesses or in top-tier consultancies is highly desirable.
- Track record of steering strategic transformation initiatives that have significant business impact.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience dealing with executive and senior leadership.
- Deep knowledge of programme governance, planning, and execution across complex environments.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary up to £100,000.
- Bonus opportunity up to 30% of salary.
- Generous employer pension contribution.
- 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Hybrid work model, with around two days per month on-site in London.
Additional Information
- The hiring process is moving rapidly and immediate starters are preferred.
