About the Role
This position operates within the Department of General Services (DGS), responsible for managing the District government’s capital improvements and construction programs, property acquisition and leasing, building services including engineering, custodial, security, and utilities management, as well as maintaining and improving facilities.
Primary Duties
- Plan, develop, and conduct comprehensive program analyses impacting current or future operations to evaluate effectiveness against established goals.
- Develop and maintain project and reporting systems for program management across the department.
- Provide clear communication to supervisors to assess program operations and milestones effectively.
- Analyze and synthesize data to identify trends and issues, forecast program needs, and prepare detailed reports, including visual data presentations.
- Conduct management surveys, audits, and special projects; offer advisory support to management and operational staff.
- Oversee execution of broad-scope programs with significant organizational impact.
- Interpret applicable policies, directives, and regulations to evaluate their effects on program goals and operations.
- Draft internal policies, procedures, and guidelines; recommend necessary adjustments to ensure programs fulfill objectives efficiently and effectively.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, possessing the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.
Work Environment and Additional Information
- Primarily office-based work, with occasional field assignments.
- Regular tour of duty is Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM (hours may vary).
- Position classification: Pay Plan CS-343-12, Career Service Regular appointment.
- No promotion potential identified.
- This role requires enhanced suitability screening due to security-sensitive responsibilities.
