Job description

Role Overview

The Product Manager for Data Center is responsible for steering the vision, development, and management of products and services related to data centers. This position encompasses strategic planning, product commercialization, and lifecycle oversight to serve diverse clientele such as retail, enterprise, hyper-scalers, and government agencies.

Key Duties

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive product strategy and multi-year roadmap for data center offerings including colocation, infrastructure, and related services.
  • Spot market opportunities in areas such as colocation, edge data centers, AI-enabled infrastructure, and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • Ensure alignment of product initiatives with business expansion goals, corporate strategies, regional growth especially in Malaysia, and sustainability commitments.
  • Lead product lifecycle activities from business case formulation through to operational performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams on capacity planning, adherence to design standards, and service level agreements.
  • Develop pricing strategies based on rack space, power consumption, usage, and bundled services.
  • Create robust business cases, return on investment assessments, and obtain investment approvals.
  • Coordinate go-to-market campaigns in partnership with sales specialists, account managers, and marketing groups.
  • Engage with customers and partners to gather requirements and translate these into scalable product solutions.
  • Forge partnerships with other data center providers and technology vendors to enrich service offerings.
  • Define operational metrics including SLAs and KPIs such as uptime, power usage effectiveness, and utilization efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor product performance and drive cost-efficiency improvements.
  • Utilize AI and automation technologies to enhance operational and planning processes.
  • Guarantee compliance with applicable regulations and industry certifications while advancing green initiatives such as renewable energy usage, liquid cooling, and carbon footprint tracking.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum eight years in product management roles related to data centers, colocation, or infrastructure solutions like uninterruptible power supplies and modular data centers.
  • In-depth technical comprehension of data center design elements including power, cooling mechanisms, rack infrastructure, and redundancy tier classifications.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical product systems and solutions.
  • Preferred knowledge of AI infrastructure and high-performance computing environments.
  • Expertise in pricing models, profit and loss accountability, and crafting business proposals.
  • Proven capability managing stakeholders across both commercial and technical spheres.
  • Proficient in translating technical capabilities into tangible business benefits.

Soft Skills

  • Strategic thinker with a strong bias for execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of compelling storytelling.
  • Customer-oriented approach in all facets of work.

Preferred Credentials

  • Experience collaborating with hyper-scale companies or large enterprises.
  • Understanding of regional data center ecosystems, especially in Singapore, Malaysia, and the broader ASEAN region.
  • Background managing diverse portfolios encompassing colocation, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, and service offerings.
  • Experience with smart infrastructure, digital platforms, and edge computing technologies.
