Role Overview
As a Procurement Manager Operations based in Melbourne, reporting to the Portfolio Category Manager – Operations, you will play a key role in shaping procurement strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of our facilities. You will work collaboratively with various teams and leadership across Asia Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the complete procurement cycle for operational projects, including RFx processes, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
- Develop, issue, and manage tender processes by preparing scopes of work, bid packages, evaluations, recommendations, and contract awards.
- Lead contract negotiation, preparation, execution, and ongoing supplier and contract administration.
- Support category strategy development aiming for safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient outcomes.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic suppliers throughout the APAC region to strengthen relationships and enhance performance.
- Conduct thorough market research to assess cost drivers, risks, trends, and prospects.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and AirTrunk's corporate governance.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to bolster supply chain resilience.
- Collaborate closely with Operations teams to align objectives, influence results, and support daily operations.
- Build robust relationships internally and communicate procurement goals to effectively influence stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven expertise in formulating and implementing procurement strategies, tender frameworks, and standard processes, including high-value and complex contract negotiations.
- Commercial experience in operational procurement within mission-critical environments such as data centres, utilities, infrastructure, or facilities management.
- Deep understanding and practical application of commercial, contractual principles, and resolving complex procurement, risk, and supply chain issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement and sourcing methodologies, supplier management, and contract lifecycle oversight.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing mid to senior-level stakeholders effectively.
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, prioritization, and time management in a dynamic, rapidly changing setting.
- Resilient, proactive, agile, detail-oriented, and hands-on approach.
- Ability to work independently with full accountability for assigned procurement categories and projects.
