Role overview

A leading investment firm is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its San Francisco team, with a focus on energy transition and essential real asset opportunities.

What you will do

  • Assess prospective investments across energy transition, power infrastructure, distributed energy, environmental services, and related real asset areas by reviewing CIMs, carrying out market research, and interpreting sector trends.
  • Develop and update in-depth financial models, such as operating forecasts, valuation frameworks, LBO models, and scenario analyses, to evaluate return potential, downside resilience, and capital structure implications.
  • Help run transactions end to end by coordinating diligence efforts, working with lenders, consultants, legal counsel, and management teams, and supporting the preparation of investment committee materials.
  • Track portfolio company results, review monthly operating performance, monitor key infrastructure and energy indicators, surface value-creation ideas, and support add-on acquisition evaluation.
  • Create investment memos, presentations, and market updates for senior leaders and investment committee reviews, especially around energy transition themes, infrastructure assets, and durable long-duration cash flows.
