Position Overview
Our client, a Toronto-based private equity firm focusing on the lower mid-market in Canada and the US, is expanding its team. Supported by a major Canadian multi-platform alternative asset manager and aligned with a significant sustainable investment platform, the firm offers considerable growth prospects with substantial investment capital. This role presents an opportunity to actively participate as an investor within a young and ambitious team.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in multiple phases of private equity investments, including research, thorough due diligence, financial modeling, and collaborating with lenders and external advisors.
- Support senior partners and executives of portfolio companies in driving value creation strategies.
- Integrate fully as a contributing member of the investment team.
- Develop expertise in the agri-food industry sector.
- Represent the firm at relevant conferences and trade events as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- A strong enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and team growth.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or corporate development.
- A bachelor's degree in business or commerce.
- Robust understanding of business operations.
- An analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to share insights constructively and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including presentation abilities, problem-solving aptitude, financial analysis proficiency, and organizational skills.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
